RADIO CHILANGO 105.3 (CDMX)

Chilango Radio (XHINFO-FM, 105.3 FM) is a radio station in Mexico City broadcasting in HD. It is owned by XEFAJ, S.A. de C.V., a company controlled by Eduardo Henkel Rojas, and is presently operated by Capital Digital, owner of Chilango magazine.

The station began as an AM outlet on 1560 kHz, with a concession awarded to Ruben Marín y Kall on January 26, 1962, under the callsign XERMK-AM. It was sold in 1966 to Clemente Serna Alvear and relaunched as English-language XEVIP-AM, becoming CBS Radio's first affiliate in Latin America. In 1979, Grupo Radio Centro bought the station, changed its calls to XEFAJ-AM and introduced a regional Mexican format, "Radio Consentida." A 1998 agreement transferred the station to journalist José Gutiérrez Vivó; Infored operated it from 2000, first as grupera outlet "La Banda 15-60" and from 2004, as XEINFO-AM, as news station "Radio Monitor." Legal fighting between Radio Centro and Monitor knocked it off the air in 2008; it returned in 2011 with no commercials or branding and later went silent again.

In 2017, XEINFO was selected as the only commercial Mexico City AM station to migrate to FM. Henkel began operating it directly, and on November 1, 2018, it launched as "Aire Libre" with an indie and eclectic music format, with Víctor Trujillo hosting mornings. The AM signal was turned off in November 2019. After a legal dispute, the IFT shut down Aire Libre in December 2021. The station then broadcast unbranded contemporary music, followed by an English-language classic hits format, "105.3 Digital," until Salvador Pérez Habib took over operations in July 2022 as "La Nueva Radio."

On August 7, 2023, Capital Digital assumed operational control, formally relaunching the station as Radio Chilango on August 28 with four new weekday talk programs.
