The story of LA PRIMERA 88.9 (Saltillo)
La Primera 88.9 (XHAJ-FM) is a radio station on 88.9 FM in Saltillo, Coahuila, broadcasting a talk format. It is owned by Compañía Periodística Criterios, S.A. de C.V., owner of the El Diario de Coahuila newspaper.
The station began as XEAJ-AM 1330, which came to air on July 16, 1962. It was founded by Carlos G. Cirilo Treviño and soon sold to Radio Bonita, S.A., though it was operated by the Jaubert family from the start. In 2000, Criterios bought XEAJ and migrated it to FM in 2011, where it operates today as La Primera 88.9.
