LA MEJOR FM 97.7 (CDMX)

La Mejor 97.7 (XERC-FM, 97.7 MHz) is a radio station in Mexico City owned by MVS Radio, serving as the national flagship for its La Mejor Regional Mexican format. It broadcasts in HD from a tower at the La Mesa/Villa Alpina site on the western outskirts of the city, shared with Grupo Radio Centro.

Though its concession was approved on July 26, 1963, the station did not sign on until 1974. Founded by Grupo Radio Centro as "Radio Hits", it aired current music in English. The original concession was held by Radio Popular de México, S.A., sold to Radio Central de la Provincia in 1975. In August 1988 it became "Stereo 97 7", focusing on Spanish-language pop and later a general CHR mix. It pioneered the "three-by-three" song arrangement, quickly copied by other stations and now commonplace. From 1989 to 1993 it was Mexico City's most popular radio station. By the late 2000s its name was simplified to "97 7".

On November 7, 2016, it was rebranded "Radio Centro 97 7" with a Spanish-only format emphasizing Latin urban music and reggaeton, directed by Toño Esquinca. Gabriel Roa replaced him on June 1, 2018, adding English hits and 1980s-2000s pop. On October 17, 2018, a morning newscast hosted by Carmen Aristegui debuted, and on January 14, 2019, the station flipped to news/talk, with Sergio Sarmiento, Guadalupe Juárez, Carlos Albert, Enrique Beas, Julio Astillero, Fernanda Tapia, Alejandro Paez Varela, Álvaro Delgado, and Ricardo Raphael joining the lineup.

On October 31, 2019, XERC and XHRED-FM swapped formats, bringing the Universal English classic hits format to 97.7. On May 15, 2020, Grupo Radio Centro announced the station's sale to MVS Radio for a reported 500 million pesos. MVS took over on June 1, 2020, flipping it to La Mejor, a grupera format previously heard on XHMVS-FM (2006-2008) and XEOC-AM (2010-2012). Although the IFT approved the station's return to Cerro del Chiquihuite in December 2022, as of December 2024 it still broadcast from Villa Alpina.
