The story of LA KEBUENA 103.9 (San Andrés Tuxtla)
La Ke Buena 103.9 (XHDQ-FM) is a radio station in San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz, broadcasting the La Ke Buena Regional Mexican format from Radiópolis. It is currently owned by Quatro Media Telecomunicaciones.
The station began as XEDQ-AM, receiving its concession on July 22, 1961, broadcasting on 1400 kHz and owned by Radio Ondas de los Tuxtlas, S.A. On June 8, 1963, it was bought by Francisco Ibarra López, who formed Grupo ACIR in 1965; it was the company's first station and its smallest-market property. By 1969 it had moved from 1400 to 1360 kHz, and to 830 sometime in the 1990s.
In 2010, XEDQ was authorized to migrate to FM. In 2018, the station adopted the Amor brand; it had already carried the format but branded as Radio Alegría, with a retro logo reminiscent of ACIR's 1980s logos, a nod to its history as ACIR's first station.
Effective June 29, 2022, Grupo ACIR shut down XHDQ-FM as part of a retreat from three stations in southern Veracruz, a closure that cost 17 jobs. On October 15 of that year, a group led by Carlos Ferráez acquired the station to relaunch it under the La Ke Buena grupera brand; the concession transfer was completed by the IFT in 2023.
