The story of KY 104.3 (Ciudad Juárez)
KY 104.3 (XHTO-FM, 104.3 FM) is a radio station in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, broadcasting a bilingual adult contemporary format focused on Spanish-language programming for Ciudad Juárez listeners, owned by Grupo Audiorama Comunicaciones.
The station was originally owned by Joaquín Vargas Gómez, founder of MVS Radio, as an English-language adult contemporary outlet with Spanish-language IDs, promos and advertising called "Stereorey", with the motto "La Máxima Dimensión en Radio". In 1977 it was transferred to Frecuencia Modulada de Ciudad Juárez, S.A., later sold to Grupo Radiorama, becoming a full-Spanish adult contemporary outlet as "La Exitosa".
In the 2000s, Grupo Radio México took control, and in 2001 the station flipped to an El Paso-focused English-language Top 40/CHR format named "HitFM". In 2003 it shifted to rhythmic contemporary music to compete against KPRR, and by September 2013 it returned to mainstream CHR with a dance/rhythmic lean. In 2015, Grupo Radio México's merger into Grupo Radio Centro brought XHTO-FM under GRC control.
In 2020, Grupo Audiorama Comunicaciones took direct ownership through its American division PRO Radio. On February 5, 2026, Audiorama and Luz María Rygaard agreed to cut ties, ending the operation and programming agreement for XHTO-FM. On March 1, 2026, HitFM moved to KAMA, and the station returned to Spanish-language programming for Ciudad Juárez with a stunt period. On April 6, 2026, it launched as "KY 104.3", with its official programming unveiled on June 1.
