The story of Globo 101.3 (Ciudad del Carmen)
Globo 101.3 (XHMAB-FM 101.3 / XEMAB-AM 950) is a radio station in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, currently airing MVS Radio's Globo format under operator Organización Radio Carmen.
The station's origins go back to 1973, when XEMAB-AM 950 was licensed to Mario Antonio Boeta Blanco to operate with 250 watts of power. Boeta Blanco served as mayor of Ciudad del Carmen from 1974 to 1976 and had also helped establish XEIT-AM, Carmen's first radio station, in the 1960s. In 2010, the station received authorization to migrate to FM.
In May 2017, XHMAB dropped its La Poderosa Regional Mexican format for Retro. In August 2020, it switched to El Heraldo Radio, and all Retro shows, including Centro Regional de Noticias, moved to XHPMEN-FM, a new station being leased by Radiorama.
On March 1, 2022, El Heraldo Radio programming ended, and on June 28 MVS Radio's romantic FM Globo format was announced, with Organización Radio Carmen as the new operator.
