The story of Amor 101.3 (Guaymas)
AMOR 101 (XHFX-FM 101.3, also simulcasting on XEFX-AM 630) is a romantic-format station in Guaymas, Sonora, owned by Radio Sonora, S.A.
XEFX-AM 630 received its concession on March 31, 1955. The 250-watt station was owned by José Ramos Regalado and Guillermo Acosta Ochoa. It was sold to Radio Sonora, S.A. in 1967, and in the 1980s it increased daytime power to a full kilowatt.
In 2010, XEFX migrated to FM as XHFX-FM 101.3. The AM signal remains on air because five people would lose all radio service if it closed, per a 2018 IFT study.
