94.1 Uam Radio (CDMX)

UAM Radio (XHUAM-FM) is the radio station of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, currently broadcasting on 94.1 FM from a UAM building on Avenida Constituyentes in Mexico City. Its format is largely cultural, with some programs using UAM resources and produced by departments at the various university units.

The station began in 2011, after Cofetel awarded permits on January 27, 2010 for a network of five 20-watt transmitters at different UAM facilities in Mexico City: the General Rectory (which housed the studios), the Unidad Azcapotzalco, Unidad Cuajimalpa, Unidad Iztapalapa, and Unidad Xochimilco. The network was estimated to cover 70% of Mexico City. It signed on March 11, 2011, returning the 94.1 FM frequency to use in Mexico City for the first time since XHFM-FM closed in 1957.

In July 2017, the Federal Telecommunications Institute authorized UAM Radio to switch to a single transmitter from the Cuajimalpa site, using the callsign XHUAM-FM and increasing power to 3,000 watts, expanding reception to eastern portions of the State of Mexico. The university sought the change because its single-frequency network was "not sufficient to provide an efficient FM radio service to Mexico City." Testing of the higher-power transmissions began in March 2018.
